Premier League side Crystal Palace have made an enquiry to Liverpool about the loan signing of attacker Rhian Brewster in January, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that the Eagles have asked the Reds about a temporary swoop for the 19-year-old, but manager Jurgen Klopp won’t make a decision on where Brewster will go until after his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Aston Villa in mid-December.

The same outlet reported earlier this week that the European champions are prepared to let Brewster go out on loan come the New Year in order to get him regular football.

Klopp believes the teenager can be a first team player in the future, but is eager for him to get more game-time after playing just twice this campaign.

OPINION

Brewster certainly needs games sooner or later if he is to fulfil his potential, there’s no doubt about that. He is a top class prospect and is rated very highly at Anfield, but with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane entrenched as the Reds’ fearsome front three, he’s not going to be playing regularly anytime soon. With that said, a loan move would probably be best for Brewster. It’s whether a Premier League stint is going to come too soon for him, though? You have to think that what the club did with Harry Wilson last season is a better policy to follow. He was sent to a Championship club with a progressive young manager and he tore up the second tier. That has been followed with a loan to a Premier League side, where he has similarly excelled. That could happen with Brewster if the Reds play their cards right. Perhaps Bristol City would be a good loan move for him? It certainly worked with Tammy Abraham a few years ago. Palace, and Premier League football, might be too much too soon right now.
