Former England international Alan Shearer has named three Liverpool players in his Premier League Team of the Week.
The Match of the Day pundit has included centre half Dejan Lovren, left back Andrew Robertson and defensive midfielder Fabinho in his star-studded eleven.
Indeed, the polarising Croatian Lovren came through with a performance to silence his doubters – at least temporarily – in the Reds’ excellent 3-1 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
The Liverpool trio are joined by the likes of Leicester City stars Jonny Evans, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy, and Chelsea duo Reece James and Mateo Kovacic.

OPINION
This is an all-star eleven from Shearer, and it’s hard to argue with any of his picks. Never is that truer than in the case of this Liverpool trio. All three men were phenomenal against City, proving that the Reds are the class of the Premier League at present and likely on course for their first league title in 30 long years. The statistics from Sunday’s game, as per WhoScored.com, tell you all you need to know about how good the trio were against Pep Guardiola’s side. Lovren made a tackle, an interception, five clearances and two blocks in a mighty effort. Then there’s Robertson, who offered up a tackle, an interception, four clearances and a block. Fabinho, too, made a tackle and an interception, scored and had two shots and a successful dribble. You can’t argue that any of the three aren’t deserving of a place in Shearer’s eleven, especially after securing what could prove to be a monumental victory over City.
