OPINION
The Liverpool supporters have torn into captain Jordan Henderson for his first half performance against Aston Villa on Saturday. To be fair, it was a below-par opening 45 minutes from the majority of the Reds players, but their captain was among the worse on display at Villa Park. He almost cost his team early on when he played a slack backpass to goalkeeper Alisson, and was fortunate that the Brazilian was switched on enough to come out and clear things up. Shortly after that he had a heavy touch of the ball which saw his team dispossessed. It’s not the sort of start to the game you expect from the captain, and his lethargy seemed to infect his fellow players. While it was Adam Lallana’s selection in the middle of the park which raised eyebrows, he can’t be blamed particularly for the league leaders’ slow start in Birmingham. Henderson, on the other hand, was woeful, and it’s no surprise that the Reds faithful have been criticising him.

I'd very much appreciate if Henderson started the games like everyone else instead of being poor for the first 20 and then getting into it. It's been like that the past few weeks and today is no different.
