OPINION
Once again the anti Dejan Lovren brigade have come out in force during a Liverpool game. The Croatian international didn’t produce an outstanding performance in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, but he was far from the worst culprit in what was a flat display from the league leaders, particularly in the first half. Lovren wasn’t at fault for Trezeguet’s opener, far from it, yet he is the man who has come under fire from the Liverpool supporters. It’s simply bizarre. Yes, the former Southampton man has had some woeful performances in a red shirt, and yes Jurgen Klopp’s continued reluctance to start Joe Gomez instead of him is rather bizarre. But we can’t just slaughter him every single game no matter how he plays. He should be judged by what he’s done in this Villa clash, not on his past sins. However, that’s clearly not the case, as can be seen below.

I'm not sure if Lovren has won a header this year.

Lovren can't win a duel to save his life

Our front 3 are masters of missing sitters this season. If these 3 were clinical, our FT scorelines would have matched our performances. Henderson the poorest player yet again while lovren is clueless as usual.

We’re not. Gomez is right there. This is Klopp’s choice, and I cannot fathom it. Lovren should have been sold in the summer.

No faith in a team with lallana and lovren. They are a liability. #ASTLIV
