COMMENTARY
Many Liverpool fans were blown away by the performance of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The 26-year-old midfield enforcer helped pull the strings in midfield for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and one Reds fan claimed Fabinho was playing passes that only Reds legend Steve Gerrard was good enough to play. Fabinho notably made one defence-splitting pass in the first half, which Sadio Mane should have made more of, and that seem to send lots of Reds supporters wild. It’s interesting that one Reds fan believes Fabinho’s passing is underrated as they may have a point. Fabinho is often praised for his defensive capabilities, he has averaged a superb 3.3 tackles per game across his league outings this season (Source: WhoScored), so perhaps people do underestimate how good he is with the ball at his feet. However maybe after his display against Palace, where his passing stood out, he may get the recognition he deserves.

Fabinho’s passing is underrated. He’s like a quarter back in that position.
