Xherdan Shaqiri hasn’t exactly enjoyed the best of times since arriving at Liverpool. The Switzerland international surely wouldn’t have expected to be starting every single game at Anfield, but he will have been hoping for more minutes than he has got under Jurgen Klopp. Injury at the beginning of this season has prevented him from making some sort of impact in all competitions, and that will have frustrated him even further. The 28-year-old has only featured for 11 minutes this season, and only managed 11 starts in the Premier League in the previous campaign, so it is no surprise to see Football Insider report that he will look to leave the club at the end of the season. Every player hopes to play every single game no matter the level of competition they face, and this looks like the most reasonable outcome for both parties. Many Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction on Saturday, with the majority not exactly shocked, but hoping that he will be replaced as quickly as possible should he leave.
