Adam Lallana may have scored the equalising goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford last month and earned his first Premier League start of the season at Villa Park on Saturday, but that has not stopped a number of Liverpool fans from taking to Twitter to show that they want the ex-Southampton midfielder to be axed from Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up ahead of the Champions League clash against Genk on Tuesday night. Lallana replaced Fabinho in Liverpool’s regular midfield three in the 2-1 win against Aston Villa at the weekend but clearly did not impress these fans on Twitter. But why should Klopp drop him? It would make sense to play a bit of a weakened side against Genk on Tuesday so that the Reds boss can go full strength with a well-rested squad against Manchester City on Sunday. That clash against Pep Guardiola’s side is without doubt the biggest game of the season so far. Play Lallana on Tuesday and then replace him with Fabinho on Sunday.
