There is no hiding from the fact that Liverpool could be tempted into a move for another attacking option in the transfer market.

Jurgen Klopp currently has the deadliest front-three in the world with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane, with all three major reasons behind the success they have achieved in all competitions.

The consistent injury struggles of Xherdan Shaqiri has left the Reds with Divock Origi as their most experienced senior option available for rotation, and that could quickly catch up with them at Anfield.

Transfer expert Ian McGarry has recently revealed that Liverpool had opened negotiations with Red Bull Leipzig to sign their exciting forward Timo Werner.

“What we can tell you on the transfer window today is that Liverpool have begun the process of formal negotiations with RB Leipzig for the player’s transfer,” he said on the Transfer Window Podcast.

Leipzig head coach recently told Sports Bild, as quoted by journalist Ronan Murphy on his personal Twitter account, that he would advise any of his players to leave should they be developing faster than the side, before mentioning Werner specifically.

“I’ve already advised many players to take off their wedding ring with their current club to move somewhere else,” he said.

“I’d do the same with Timo Werner if he were developing faster than the team at RB Leipzig.”

This could be a massive boost behind any potential Liverpool move for Werner, with his own head-coach admitting that he wouldn’t necessarily stand in the way of the German international leaving the club.

Liverpool should take this as an incentive to go and secure the free-scoring Werner, who would be a great addition at Anfield to strengthen their Premier League title bid.

The 23-year-old has already been involved in 15 goals in his 11 appearances this season and averages an impressive 3.7 shots per game according to WhoScored – as he has already mastered the ability to create an opportunity for himself despite his lack of experience.

Liverpool should use Nagelsmann’s recent comments as motivation to launch an offer for Werner and tempt him to the Premier League in January to give them a massive boost in the second half of the season.
