Thierry Henry has heaped praised on Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, claiming that the Senegalese international is relentless.

The 27-year-old hit a goal and two assists in the Reds’ 5-2 derby win over Everton on Wednesday night, and Henry has been quick to hail his overall contribution for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Speaking on Amazon Prime (December 4th, 19.30), the Frenchman said: “What I like about him is he’s relentless.

“He comes back at you. He puts pressure on.

“He understands what it is that club wants.

“If he doesn’t score he will still help the team.”

OPINION

Mane was superb yet again on Wednesday evening. The two passes he played for his brace of assists were genuinely as good as anything you will see this season, and in truth, he probably could have had a hat trick of goals himself if he had been a little more canny in front of goal. Nonetheless, this was a superlative display from the forward. With two key passes, four successful dribbles, and an overall match rating of 9.22, as per Whoscored, Mane was in earth shattering form last night, and he deserves all the plaudits he will no doubt receive over the next few days. If the Senegalese ace keeps up this kind of form, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t, then don’t be surprised to see him lifting several player of the year gongs at the end of the season. A world class player in world class form, Mane is a joy to behold right now.
