It is testament to just how Liverpool have come in recent years that the prospect of signing one of the world’s premier footballing talents is met with such resounding disapproval from the Kop. According to report from Le Parisien, the Reds are keeping tabs on Brazilian superstar Neymar, but most fans don’t seem too keen on the prospect of him rocking up on Merseyside. Once upon a time that would have been unthinkable. Like him or loathe him, you can’t deny his quality as a player, and the PSG ace has averaged 4.3 shots on goal and 4.9 successful dribbles per game so far this term, as per Whoscored. But still, many fans are against bringing him to Anfield, and the recurrent theme is one that questions his personality. Neymar has a reputation for being a bit of a diva, and given the squad that Jurgen Klopp has built on Merseyside, you can see why people might be apprehensive about him coming and disrupting the dressing room. Such a large part of the success that this Liverpool side is enjoying built on the togetherness of the squad, and you have to ask yourself whether it’s worth the gamble of disrupting that for a player who the Reds don’t really need. The answer is probably no.
