Liverpool are, according to the hulking great piece of silverware they brought home from Madrid this summer, the best side in Europe at the moment.

Jurgen Klopp has transformed this team from Premier Leaguer also-rans into the most fearsome unit on the continent, and when they get going, there are few, if any, sides good enough to bring them grinding to a halt.

As such, you have to a pretty special talent to come in and take a place in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And that’s why many Liverpool fans will no doubt be clapping their hands at the latest report from French outlet Le Parisien.

The article claims that the Reds are keeping tabs on not one, but two, of the best players in world football today.

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are understood to be on the radar at Anfield, and the PSG duo – the two most expensive players in history – are exactly the kind of talent that the Reds have to be making moves on these days.

Between them, the pair have averaged eight shots on goal, 3.3 key passes, and 7.8 successful dribbles per game this season, as per Whoscored, and either one individually would do serious damage too.

The chances of Liverpool actually landing one, let alone both, seems very, very minimal, but if there is any truth in this report then supporters should just be thankful that the Reds are focussing their attentions on the very best talent in world football.
