Plenty of Liverpool fans have been giving their views on the goalkeeping situation at the club in response to a question from @LFCTransferRoom on Twitter asking followers if they would take on-loan Loris Karius over Adrian as the Reds’ second choice ‘keeper next season.

The query was accompanied by a clip of Karius pulling off a fine fingertip save in a Europa League game for Besiktas, to whom he has been on loan since summer 2018. The German goalkeeper’s loan in Turkey is due to expire at the end of this season, with Fanatik reporting that West Ham, Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon are all interested in possibly signing him. The 26-year-old’s Liverpool career never recovered from his two costly errors in the 2018 Champions League final, which the Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

Adrian, who has deputised for the injured Alisson in recent weeks, has also been culpable of high-profile mistakes, gifting Chelsea a goal with a handling error in an FA Cup defeat at the start of this month and then kicking the ball straight to Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix in the lead-up to the Spanish side’s first goal in a 2-3 Champions League defeat which saw Liverpool’s defence of their crown come to an end.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter are highly unconvinced about both goalkeepers and have called for the club to find an alternative backup to first choice Alisson:

Should Liverpool get rid of both Karius and Adrian in the summer or is there a case to be made for keeping either (or both) of them? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
