A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a question posed by @AnfieldEdition on Twitter asking if followers would be content just to win the Premier League this season, with many emphatically stating that the league title would render 2019/20 a success irrespective of everything else.

A run of three defeats in four games has seen the Reds exit the FA Cup against Chelsea last night, lose 1-0 away to Atletico Madrid to put the defence of their Champions League crown in jeopardy and relinquish their unbeaten status in the Premier League following a 3-0 thrashing by Watford.

Although there is the distinct possibility of being knocked out of two competitions in just over a week if Jurgen Klopp’s side are unable to overcome Atletico next Wednesday, Liverpool are still firmly on course to lift the Premier League, in which they currently have a 22-point lead over Manchester City and need only four more wins from 10 games to be crowned champions for the first time in 30 years.

Given the three-decade wait for a league title, these Reds fans on Twitter would happily take disappointments in every other competition just to have the Premier League trophy at Anfield come the end of the season:

Liverpool fans, would you be content just to win the Premier League this season or would a ‘mere’ league title feel disappointing given the standards the team had set in the first six months of the campaign? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
