A number of Liverpool fans have taken issue with a tweet posted by This Is Anfield writer Henry Jackson (@HenryJackson87) following last night’s exit from the FA Cup, with the journalist saying that he doesn’t care about the competition and claiming that Jurgen Klopp “loathes it”.

The 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the fifth round means that, in five seasons at the Merseyside club, Klopp has never reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Indeed, the current campaign has seen his best finish in the competition, having exited at the third round last season and the fourth round in the preceding three years. [via TransferMarkt]

Liverpool’s starting line-up against the Blues showed seven changes from the team beaten by Watford on Saturday, a recurring theme during their FA Cup campaign. Klopp made nine changes for the third round win over Everton and named a fully-changed side for the draw at Shrewsbury. The manager didn’t even attend the replay against the League One outfit, with Neil Critchley instead taking charge as a team of under-23 players earned a 1-0 win (as per BBC).

However, with the Reds not having won the FA Cup since 2006 and appearing in only one final in the meantime, these Liverpool fans on Twitter were not pleased with Jackson’s disparaging of the competition:
