A number of Liverpool fans have hit out at West Ham co-chairperson Karren Brady after she called for the current Premier League season to be declared null and void in her newspaper column (via Daily Mail). Broadcaster Des Kelly subsequently made his feelings known in response to the Conservative Party MP‘s comments, which he described as “shameless” on Twitter (via @TheDesKelly).

The Premier League is currently on hiatus after a decision was taken yesterday to postpone all matches in the competition until 4 April at the earliest in an attempt to combat the spread of coronavirus. As per Sky Sports, representatives from the 20 clubs in the division are due to hold an emergency meeting next Thursday to establish plans for the remainder of the season. According to Give Me Sport, journalist Ewan McKenna tweeted that West Ham and Tottenham had called for the current league season to be voided.

Such a decision would have massive implications on Liverpool, who are on the verge of winning a first league title in 30 years, while it would also spare Brady’s club West Ham from relegation, with the London-based club only outside the drop zone on goal difference. Unsurprisingly, these Reds fans on Twitter were fuming at her calls for the season to be scrapped:

Liverpool fans, what do you make of Brady’s desire for the Premier League season to be declared void? Comment below with your views!
