A number of Liverpool fans enjoyed hearing that former Reds player Jim Beglin will be on duty at tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

The 56-year-old TV pundit tweeted (via @jimbeglin) a list of upcoming televised fixtures from the league, with him accompanying Jim Proudfoot on commentary for the Anfield clash. He will also be on co-commentary duty alongside Peter Drury for Sunday’s Manchester derby.

Beglin, who spent six years at Liverpool in the 1980s and won a league title and FA Cup (as per lfchistory.net), has worked as a TV pundit for numerous years following his retirement from playing and some Reds fans lauded him and Drury for their commentary on the derby win over Everton in December.

The positive reaction to the ex-Republic of Ireland international’s appointment for commentary duties is in stark contrast to that afforded to Martin Tyler, who has been pilloried by numerous Liverpool fans over a perceived lack of excitement whenever the Reds score.

These Kopites took to Twitter to voice their satisfaction at discovering that Beglin will be on the microphone for tomorrow’s game against Bournemouth:

Liverpool fans, do you enjoy listening to Beglin as a co-commentator? Let us know in the comments section below!
