A number of Liverpool fans have reacted with disdain to a report from the Liverpool Echo claiming that manager Jurgen Klopp is satisfied with his current goalkeeping options and will not seek to get rid of those presently at Anfield, despite Turkish media outlet Takvim (as covered by Sporx) linking them with a summer move for Trabzonspor’s Ugurcan Cakir.
As noted by @AnfieldEdition on Twitter, this means that the German is keeping faith with Adrian, who has been covering in goals in the absence of the injured Alisson but committed costly errors in cup eliminations at the hands of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid this month, leading to criticism from the likes of ex-Reds player Steve Nicol and journalist Alyson Rudd.

The 33-year-old has conceded 24 goals in his 18 appearances for Liverpool since joining on a free transfer last summer, seven more than Alisson despite the Brazilian playing 10 more matches than him in the current campaign. The Spaniard has managed just three clean sheets all season, the last of which came against Everton in the FA Cup in January (as per TransferMarkt).
These Reds fans on Twitter weren’t happy to hear that Klopp reportedly plans to stick with his current choice of goalkeepers instead of seeking to freshen up his options for the position:
Klopp is garbage and he loves garbage ???

Doubt Klopp thinks that after his last couple of performances

This is why we wont dominate the league for years to come and we probably will start to decline in two years. Lack of steel.

Liverpool fans, is Klopp right to stick by Adrian or is this is a case of blind loyalty given the Spaniard’s erratic form? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
