Plenty of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a video posted by the Liverpool Echo’s football multimedia producer Kai Delaney on Twitter (@Kai_Delaney) which shows the current transfer market valuations for the Reds’ squad as per figures from TransferMarkt.

According to TransferMarkt, the Premier League leaders’ first team squad has a combined market value of £1.07 billion, which Delaney stated is nearly twice the sum of the transfer fees that Liverpool paid for the players currently at their disposal as he lauded sporting director Michael Edwards.

TransferMarkt states that Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s record signing at £76.19m, just under £20m more than their next most expensive acquisition Alisson (£56.25m). Naby Keita (£54m) is currently the only other player for whom the Reds have paid more than £50m.

By way of comparison, eight players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad have a TransferMarkt valuation of £63m or greater, with both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane rated at £135m and Trent Alexander-Arnold coming in at just under the £100m mark. Van Dijk is fourth on the list at £90m.

Despite the evident boom in market value for a number of Liverpool players, these Reds fans on Twitter did not agree with quite a few of the figures quoted by TransferMarkt, with Joe Gomez’s £31.5m valuation proving especially provocative:

Liverpool fans, who do you think are the squad’s most valuable players and at what price would you value those players? Let us know in the comments section below!
