Plenty of Liverpool fans have given their backing to Adrian after the goalkeeper’s costly error in last night’s FA Cup defeat against Chelsea. The 33-year-old tweeted his disappointment after the 2-0 loss, along with voicing his determination to put the result behind him (via @AdriSanMiguel).
We are disappointed but it's not about never falling, it's about ALWAYS STANDING UP ???#ADR13N https://t.co/U5f7z3aNWc

The Spaniard came into the team for his first appearance since the draw at Shrewsbury in the previous round of the competition but had a moment to forget in the early stages at Stamford Bridge. Just 13 minutes into the game, he fumbled a 20-yard shot by Willian into his own net to gift Chelsea the lead. He was late beaten by a solo effort from Ross Barkley but partially atoned for his earlier error with a fine save to deflect an Olivier Giroud shot off the post and away from danger. [via BBC]
Adrian made headlines in a previous meeting against the Blues earlier this season when his save from Tammy Abraham ensured victory for Liverpool in the penalty shoot-out to decide the UEFA Super Cup in his team’s favour (as per BBC). These Reds fans on Twitter remain firmly behind the goalkeeper despite his mistake for Willian’s goal last night:
Terrific saves after the error mate. Kept us from an embarrassing score line
