Plenty of Liverpool fans were less than enthused by fresh reports from French media suggesting that Kylian Mbappe could end up moving to Anfield.

El Desmarque had previously claimed [via HITC] that the Reds had made an offer for the Paris Saint-Germain striker and Le10 Sport have now reported that the Merseysiders are positioning themselves to sign the 21-year-old as his contract with the Ligue 1 side ends next year, with a possibility that he won’t extend that deal. The latest update was shared on Twitter by @AnfieldEdition.

Over the weekend, Le10 Sport claimed [via The Mirror] that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had made a phone call to Mbappe’s father in an attempt to persuade the PSG striker to sign for the Reds. The 21-year-old has struck 30 goals in 33 games this season and 90 in 120 matches in total for the Parisian club.

However, French football expert Cyril Morin told Eurosport‘s ‘Game of Opinions’ podcast that he believes Mbappe wouldn’t be a good fit for Klopp’s gegenpressing style and questioned whether he was “mature enough” to accept a role as a team player rather than being the star attraction. Also, The Mirror claimed that Real Madrid are also in the hunt for the France striker and he could cost as much as £250m.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter were unconvinced by reports that the club could ultimately sign him from PSG:
