A number of Liverpool fans have identified Brescia’s defensive midfielder Sandro Tonali at Anfield after being asked about players who they would like to have at the club.

LFC Transfer Room on Twitter (@LFCTransferRoom) asked followers who they would sign if given a realistic choice of one player from each of the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and English Championship.

Many identified 19-year-old Tonali as the player they would like to lure from Italy’s top flight, with the teenager having been linked with the Reds in January by the print edition of Corriere dello Sport [via Sport Witness] in January. The report stated that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp likes the youngster “a lot”, with Brescia valuing him at €50m (£42.7m).

According to Calciomercato, he is considered by many in Italy as the natural heir to Andrea Pirlo, with the Brescia starlet name-checking Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as one of his influences. He has made 23 starts in Serie A this season, his first top-flight campaign, and averaged 2.1 key passes per game.

These Reds fans on Twitter all chose Tonali as the one Serie A player they would like to see in the colours of Liverpool:

Liverpool fans, do you think Tonali would be a good addition at Anfield if the Reds were to renew their reported interest in him? Are there other players from Serie A who you would rather have at the club? Comment below with your views!
