Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing the signing of talented Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz, with the Reds “closely evaluating” him ahead of a potential move.

Jurgen Klopp’s men continued their good form with a 2-0 win away to Sheffield United on Wednesday evening, keeping them in second place in the Premier League table.

Liverpool are only currently two points adrift of current leaders Arsenal and they know that victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime will take them top, few a few hours at least, with the Gunners heading to in-form Aston Villa later in the day.

While things are going swimmingly for the Reds on the pitch at the moment, injuries to the likes of Joel Matip, Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota, among others, are testing the squad depth at Klopp’s disposal.

That means the Liverpool manager could decide to make new signings once the January transfer opens next month, and a key update has emerged over one possible target.

According to a fresh update from Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], the Reds are keen on signing highly-rated attacking midfielder Yildiz, having been linked with a move for him in the recent past.

Liverpool are “closely evaluating” the 18-year-old, and their interest in him “cannot be overlooked at all” by Juventus, who signed him from Bayern Munich last year.

Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Kenan Yildiz…

Yildiz looks like a spectacular young talent who could blossom into a wonderful player, so the Reds should be doing all they can to entice him to the club in the near future.

The Turkish teenager has understandably had to settle for sporadic appearances so far this season, but he has still enjoyed five outings for Juve in the Serie A.

Yildiz already has three caps to his name for Turkey, scoring in a recent 3-2 win against Germany for his country, showing that he is making an impact at international level, despite still being so young.

The attacking ace is contracted to Juve until the summer of 2027, so signing him may not be easy for Liverpool, but if a move away appeals, it could be difficult to keep hold of their prized asset.
