Earlier this year it was reported that Rooney decided he wanted to leave Manchester United for showing a ‘lack of ambition’. This has turned out to be an excuse for what was essentially a demand for higher wages. The excuse that United show a lack of ambition can hardly be further from the truth, the fact is Rooney just kicked up a fuss to make sure he got paid more money. Self-interested.
