AH the Transfer Window.

A time filled with excitement and apprehension in equal measures; a period of the year where an abundance of recognisable names enter the vocabulary of fans all across the country; hoping that their club’s next acquisition will be a meteoric purchase.

When searching through the rumour mill, it can be problematic to decipher the stories with layers of truth from the stories layered with speculation and fiction.

As Liverpool fans, we are pained with seeing all manner of names connected with the club, most of which never transpire.

As realistic targets – considering transfer budget, lack of Champions League football and our current manager – these five may be the lucky men that are selected to play for our club.

Click on Clint below, who is signalling the way to view five realistic targets that Brendan Rodgers should consider this summer.

  • David Tyrer says:

They would all be superb signings, provided the fees were not extortionate.

  • Chris says:

Agree on these, less interested in Johnson, think Walcott would be a better fit. Maybe we still need an out and out striker but where do you get one and what would they cost? Also think BR may be looking at a CB given Carra is past it and Coates untested.

  • Elias says:

Gaston ramirez would be a good signing he already proves it with uruguay and the way he linked with suarez in 6-4 against chile what if they play regular in the Epl.adam johnson is also good i wish they get him

  • Wande george says:

I think liverpool should look for out side players ,reason english boyz are high priced,no art in de game.learn from spanish….

  • Andrew says:

Firstly will people please realise Gaston Ramirez is not coming to Liverpool this summer. On to the 5 players named

Clint Dempsey: I’ve stated in a previous article my thoughts, he’s this summer’s Charlie Adam and to suggest as an American fan did in reply to my view that this deal will be a coup in the American market is so un LFC. Leave the wacky commerical signings to the mancs (that Chinese striker they signed about 7 years ago who vanished without a trace, or the 2 Chinese lads who neverton signed a decade ago (Li

Oops pressed the wrong button and submitted a half wriiten analysis

The two Everton Chinese were Li Tie (who I nicknamed Le aving soon) and Li Weifeng (who I nicknamed Why me?) we’ll stick to signing players for football reasons not commercial reasons so on that basis NO, NO and NO again to Dempsey.

Lewis Holtby: I actually go to Munich to watch Bayern play once a season but I don’t know to much so I won’t comment.

Tello: He didn’t impress me when I saw him but is that because Messi. Xavi, Iniesta el al or is he not that good? I’d say £7 million is steep given his contract situation (a year left) and lack of games.

Joe Allen: If we could get him for around £12 million he’d look to be the type of player we need but we should not over pay for a player with vast potential but would still be a gamble.

Adam Johnson: I’m split on this one, at times he looks good but is he another Downing? I believe he’s better than Downing but I can’t believe he’s worth the £17million the press have talked about. If he’s to come I reckon it won’t happen till late with no more than a £10-£12 million price tag.

  • Effect says:

Client Dempsey, Joe Allen, Gaston Ramirez.

  • Effect says:

Get! Client Dempsey, Joe Allen, Gaston Ramirez. Comolli bought one player(suarez), and Daglish bought one(Jose enrique). The rest of them are flops. Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Adams.

    • Andrew says:

Firstly it’s Charlie Adam not Adams, which might give a clue about your knowledge of Ramirez and in depth analysis of Dempsey. How can you judge Ramirez when he’s never played in a league with the pace of the Premiership. You think he’ll be good, why? Because he’s good on Football Manager or he plays for Uruguay I’d guess. Those of us in the real world listen to experts such as Tim Vickery (an expert on South American football and players from there) who says he has big reservasions about Ramirez’s ability to play in the English Premiership. As for Dempsey what is a soon to be 30 year old going to do to improve us? He’s never played for a big club and has never suffered the scrutiny that goes with it. If we do buy him I wish him well but I honestly can’t see him doing well at Liverpool. And as for Henderson and Carroll being flops people were slaughtering Lucas 2 years ago now he’s a key player for us who was sorely missed when he got injured last season.

  • Max says:

Gaston Ramirez all the way .. Dempsey is s&&t. Man UTd have Kagawa and possibly Lucas Moura. Chelsea = Hazard, marin, and now Oscar. Man City can get who they want. WE WANT DEMPSEY..hahahhaha What a laugh.

  • Max says:

    Sell carroll and get Higuain?

Borini Suarez and Higuain up front. Awesome.

    • Andrew says:

LMFAO as if Real would sell Higuain to us and even if in some alternative planet that happened he would say sod playing in the Champions League I’ll play for Liverpool! Laughable in the extreme
