Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was the subject of mass criticism and scrutiny after an extremely poor start to the season.
Countless errors and mistakes, inability to command the six-yard box, and just an overriding lack of confidence meant Mignolet was the scapegoat more often than not when Liverpool endured an unfavourable result.
There seems to be a direct correlation between the form of Mignolet and the form of Brendan Rodgers’ side, and fast forward to Feburary 2015, things have seemingly changed for Mignolet.
The £9 million signing from Sunderland has been revitalised and has been given back the starting berth at the Merseyside club, after a short stint on the sidelines as a result of being dropped due to poor form.
Since the turn of 2015, the Belgian goalkeeper has managed to keep four clean sheets in six games and has gone on to showcase some exceptional saves to keep Liverpool in certain games.
Mignolet’s decision making seems to have vastly improved of late, and the judgements he is making looks like it is having an impact on the whole core of Rodgers’ team, and seems to be injecting an abundance of confidence into the Reds team.
Liverpool have only lost one of their previous 10 Barclays Premier League games and a large part of this incredible run has to be down to the invigorated form of the 26-year-old shot-stopper.
