Sakho and Coutinho should both return to the side tomorrow night

After another disastrous game against Manchester United on Saturday evening, the temptation will to make wholesale changes is apparent, we just didn’t think Brendan would go so far as to leave half a dozen first teamers home, particularly considering Liverpool are traveling away to a side with a solid home record.

We’d written a team up prior to the news this afternoon that the manager had opted to leave the likes of Skrtel, Benteke and Milner at home, thinking that a few tweaks here and there should be all that was required with the likes of Mamadou Sakho and Philippe Coutinho returning to the side.

But a much-changed lineup looks in order and a by-product of that is that the sort of players left behind give some indication of how we’re going to approach the Europa League this year.

The Reds have been drawn in a fairly straight-forward group – on paper – but Bordeaux will prove to be strong opposition, despite having similar struggles to Liverpool since the season began. Unlike Brendan Rodgers’ side though, the French are coming off the back of a win in their last home game and a 2-2 draw away at Paris St.Germain so whatever side he puts out is going to have to be sharp to overcome the Frenchmen.

Take a look at the side we’ve picked.
