LFC Youth Watch – Dani Pacheco Match Report vs Wigan

17th Mar – Liverpool 2 – 0 Wigan (Lancashire Senior Cup) – Dani Pacheco was on the scoresheet as Liverpool reserves beat Wigan 2-0 to reach the final of the Lancashire Senior Cup. Pacheco was again impressive as he pushed his claims for first team inclusion but he did miss two clear chances to put the Reds into the lead during the first half. His first contribution in the match came on 9 minutes when he provided a superb ball for Lauri Dalla Valle who saw his shot saved by the Wigan keeper. The first opportunity of his own however came after a wayward pass was collected by the Spaniard and he was given space outside of the box to get his shot away, but his effort was dragged wide of the goal. Moments before his first opportunity, Pacheco had made an error of his own after his poor backpass provided an opportunity for Tomasz Cywka who couldn’t capitalise on the chance. Just before half-time though, Pacheco had another excellent opportunity to score, and after excellent work from Steven Irwin from the left hand side to provide an excellent cross, the ball fell to the Spaniard who could only fire wide. Pacheco finally got his goal in the second half, two minutes from time, sealing a 2-0 victory to see the Reds through to another cup final.
