LFC Youth Watch – Lauri Dalla Valle Match Report vs Wigan

17th Mar – Liverpool 2 – 0 Wigan (Lancashire Senior Cup) – Lauri Dalla Valle was on the scoresheet as Liverpool reserves beat Wigan 2-0 to reach the final of the Lancashire Senior Cup. Dalla Valle is certainly making a name for himself on his first starts for the Reserves and he followed up his excellent performance in the Senior Cup v Tranmere last week with another great display. His first opportunity came on 9 minutes as a great ball from Dani Pacheco found its way into the path of the Finn and the 18 year old did fantastically well to hold off Steve Gohouri with his strength, before unleashing a shot which was expertly saved by Wigan’s Serbian keeper Vladimir Stojkovic. Dalla Valle was on the end of some physical play from the Wigan defence during the match but he more than stood his ground. He finally got his goal in the second half just past the hour mark as he finished with a pin-point accurate header from a corner to put the Reds into the lead.
