Rumour Mill: Star to leave Turkey for Liverpool?

|

Turkish international Arda Turan is set leave Galatasaray this summer, according to sport.co.uk. The website believes that Liverpool are the frontrunners for the 23 year old’s signature although Spurs and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the player. Last week it was rumoured that Spurs had beaten rivals to Arda’s signature with a cash plus player deal, involving Giovani Dos Santos, but it is believed that any such deal would not represent value for money in the eyes of the Turkish club. Arda has stated in the past that it would be a “dream” to play for Liverpool but the lack of transfer funds, and the uncertainty over Rafa Benitez’s future has stalled negotiations between the two clubs. The talented playmaker has been on the radar of Liverpool for some time and let’s hope Rafa can find the cash through some player sales to finance a move for the player.

It would seem that every player linked with us has Spurs also sniping in. This sadly is the result of not finishing 4th & perhaps the story of things to come….

He’s a World class player, and would be wise to sign him right now, without even think about it before someonelse do that. Will Rafa wait the bargain summer sale for average player(Voronin,Riera,Degen….)??

he is a great little player, becasue he isnt spanish or english or even south american it will mean he as yet does not fall into that bracket, i think he is well worth 14 million which is his set transfer…. i would love to see him at liverpool, i did here the deal was indeed done,, but we shall see, his wages are not that high when you consider them v other so called spanish or english super stars! joe cole isnt a player v turan, in fact id rather have turan then others, but silva who might now be staying at valenica is my number one, but sell reira and add a bit more and get turan,,,,

All the above are realistic targets and if we could get the above there is good young english players coming through and would make us a strong team with very good impact subs.

there’s not much to be certain about this club anymore but I know that as long as the yanks are still around we will never sign this player

  • Matt says:

    Watson,shut up.

Every summer burkes such as yourself, get their Football Manager out and give us all a brief breakdown of peoples financial values and team advice.

Theirs about as much chance of that team starting next September as their is me banging in the winning goal of the world cup.

As good as it sounds we are not gonna get too many players as whatever transfer kitty we get will involve player wages. We need to sell off the dead wood and get a couple of quality players but to be honest we dont have a bad team as is, its near enough the same team that finished 4 points off the title the previous year.

You would think that immediately mentioning a player (Arda Turan, in this case) you would immediately say what position he plays. That’s the first thing that come to the reader’s mind.It gives the reader of the blog the right parameter to better understand the footballing context. Basic.
