Is this the right man to buyout Liverpool?

|

Rumours abound that Liverpool have recieved offers from several wealthy businessmen around the world. It appears that one prospective new owner may be a wealthy Arabian figure.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is the current President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir (Ruler/ Leader) of Abu Dhabi. He is one of the wealthiest Arab businessmen in the World. He is wealthier than his half-brother, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who is the owner of Manchester City FC.

Sheikh Khalifa, as he is known, is said to be the third wealthiest royal with his net-worth around $19 billion, he also has major interest in Abu Dhabi and UAE developments.

If he was interested in taking over Liverpool, his wealth could mean the Reds would have more financial power than both Manchester City and Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea. Is this the right man to take over from the ill-fated reign of Hicks and Gillett? He sounds like the answer to Liverpool’s fan’s prayers.

Monsir you do lead a very fulfilling life

Will the premier league never learn. Someone waves a big fat wad of cash in our face and we suddenly start begging like an obedient dog. It might be the short term answer, but what about the long term. Super rich individuals, deriving their profits from unsustainable rape of environmental resources, will never have the interests of Liverpool at heart. We will be a plaything or toy. The German league system and teams like Barcelona are the way forward. Why not hold out for the long term? Stable option rather than the greedy short term thrill.

Anyone can use this nickname, this is all complete guff!! I don’t know who’s who! I guess our dream ends on Thursday 🙁

  • no number 7 says:

Monsir,i appreciate that anyone can use the nickname but if you do know what you previuosly stated how would it all end on thursday??

  • MJS says:

@no number 7, Mate I’m not salif monsir I was just making the point that the above comments ref: I’m a manc etc could of been anyone, I like yourself would love to wake up to the news that Shiek Khalifa was our new owner and we were the richest club in the Premier league, However we have been here so many times in the past! Only thursday will hold the answer, If Hodgson signs I can only assume its all just garbage! ….fingers crossed YNWA

  • no number 7 says:

@MJS fair point,we all live in hope but i think we all still know the fate that (possibly) thursday will bring,it is still our club but i think things will deffo get worse before we can smile again

  • Jonny Rich says:

If the board appoint Hodgson on Thursday then they are a million miles away from selling the club. Any interested party would want to bring in their own manager.

Come mid July and we hear nothing, see nothing but more speculation…

I am not salif monsir,i made the whole thing up,but only to prove that what i am hearing and being told is absolute garbage,i love liverpool fc just like the next fan,so 100% do not believe anything until sky sports, liverpool echo or lfc themselves prove that its true.I am sorry for any one who felt what i said was true but it does show that the people who thought i was a blag are right,i have a friend who works at liverpool or my mate heard his mate saying are all utter rubbish until its proven true. I like so many reds fans want every word of the story of the sheikh taking over to be true but all we can do is wait and see.I personally believe myself like someone has already said that if hodgson gets appointed this week then there is no takeover, then all we can hope for is a better season than last.apologies again but does show how a couple of comments like mine can turn a few heads and start people off thinking all is rosy again.YANKS OUT.

  • mick the red says:

I new it but he is right, should roy become our manager this week then the yanks must be stayin,no manager is gonna risk all for a five month stint with us,take the compo and risk losing out on his beloved england job. We are too big a club to mess things up again and i am sure the hierachy are gonna make sure that we are up there fighting this season so for me i think something good will come of all this and we just have to get behind whoever it is but still pressure the yanks.

  • Jonny Rich says:

Desperate times when I find myself scouring the net for the latest update on a takeover or trying to read between the lines with everyone linked to Liverpool.

  • sum1 (lfc fan) says:

no liverpool fan will ever believe anything anybody says anymore, unless its made official and 100% confirmed so as stated before, expect hodgson on thursday but dont expect us fans to be saying ‘ooh no that means them rumours are dead’ cuz it was just some manc startin shit up, AND WE DONT BELIEVE!!!!!!!!

  • sum1 (lfc fan) says:

oh yeah and this cannot be true anyway, just remember the old saying ‘it sounds ‘TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!!!

  • mick the red says:

Thats passion jonny rich,we all want whats best for our club,i am pretty sure next season cannot be as bad as this one surely not, just got to move on hope for the best, just gets me that if the club isnt sold and we have the personnel within the club i.e kenny, sammy etc surely it would make sense not to spend out on a new managers buy out clauses so that would signal to me that the new owners if its true have earmarked hodgson should he get the job as there wanted man. something doesnt add up.

  • igor biscan says:

roy will be appointed on thursday, american owners will not budge on valuation. lfc will not be sold, but sg torres and macherano will.

  • Karim says:

any rumour involving arabs has been around for about 5 years. these guys use Liverpool fc as a marketing tool to drum up business and drive their shares up.

We are stuck with the Yanks unless someone gullable comes forward with the asking price, believed to be around £800million.

  • mick the red says:

What igor says could very well come true, from my view so could them selling up and a new owner being unveiled but the yanks could stay on until the proposed internet footy comes in where the owners are set to make a fortune so it really could go anyway who knows but the americans and co.I suppose just because we love the club does that give us the right to know what they are doing with there buisness,i am not sure how much they have to make public if any,i know its rubbish but i suppose if they dont want us to know then thats there choice, but i to am scouring the net desperate for any info.

  • YNWA says:

so what about RealHolidayReports.Com – all bull is

i wish you never did that, as playing fantasy football with the New Sheiks Money was helping me sleep at night – back to my sleepless nights

  • Doyle says:

i pray that this is true, he is the owner every fan hopes for loyal and willing too move the club forward

  • mick the red says:

Doesnt anyone else agree with me when i say why would the yanks take their money and buy hodgson out of his contract when kenny is there and wouldnt need anything other than moving into the managers position.Could anyone explain the benefit of the move, especially if they are looking to sell. Surely someone who is liverpool fc like kenny would be the cheap ideal man, steadies the ship and it looks a better club to buy?
