Liverpool to snub Dalglish?

|

Liverpool are still forging ahead with their pursuit of Roy Hodgson, despite Kenny Dalglish’s apparent desire to take on the job himself, according to the Daily Star. Dalglish’s son Paul has told reporters that his father would really like the opportunity to return to the Anfield hotseat but it seems likely the Liverpool board will press ahead with seeking to appoint the Fulham manager. As part of the selection panel, Dalglish recommended Hodgson to the Managing Director Christian Purslow and despite King Kenny’s own stated desire to be considered for the post, Liverpool may well press ahead in approaching Fulham sometime this week about the 62 year old, according to the paper.

Hodgson is a bad choice… Not to put a downer on his achievments, but we need to get back to playing flowing attacking football. We have had enough of the cautious, defensive approach. Back to the bootroom mentality.. Purslow, pull your head out, and put Kenny in the job. He deserves it above anyone…

I think Kenny should be nr1 target, in MY eyes.
He´s the ONLY one, to get Liverpool Back to basic,1 touch football like in the 80´s.
It will be a major blow to Liverpool if he didn´t
    get it, i think.
I don´t think 10 years away makes a differense, Kenny is Kenny, he Knows his game.
SO Managing Director Christian Purslow, be wise Let kenny, use those cash you havev to pay Fulham, for Roy Hodgson, for new players instead or you will be wasting good money !

I would’nt rule out Hodgson going there and Kenny being part of the coaching staff. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

I am not all that enamoured of Hodgson and his overly defensive tactical play. My problem is that I do not see him as a probable top 3 or 4 position as his achievement ( no bad thing let me add )ended to come from his concentrating on one thing and one thing only : a little like not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Remember we are talking BIG league here. They do not come bigger than EPL. Can he cut the mustard in the present set-up? I think not but he will probably be chosen ( a known non-troublemaker will be very welcome at Anfield boardroom talks).

Unless we the fans march the streets and shout “We want King Kenny!” the club will continue to go against our will. They will continue to tread on us. The sacking of Rafa was a political assassination and now they are scared to let Dalglish have the job. Not because they think he might do a bad job, but because they know his position with the fans, and they know he would win any fight with the club`s suits and owners. Because he is untouchable. If we the fans want Dalglish to have the job people have to march up and down around Anfield and let them hear it loud and clear. Then the media coverage will intensify and their hands will be forced. And rightly so.

we do want kenny. while roy deserves respect his football philosophy doesnt work for me. we have already had to endure our two previous managers and their defensive mind numbing philosophies. i began to support this club due to its possession based attacking football. ten years of garbage has left me weary and wondering how we can possibly hail benitez as a great manager when the football was dire. lets return to the notion of good football principles and enjoy our team again. for this reason lets get kenny

As a lifelong Liverpool Fan, 70, 80.80, it made the the hairs stand up on the back of my neck when I heard Daglish, we need to bring back the passionate to the Club and pride, this guy knows football inside out has the repsect of the fans players alike and plays football the Liverpool way. The European tatical managers we have had in recent years do not understand the english game and the premiership, they want to play tactitcal and shut shop football, the difficult to score against mentally. Liverpool has always been about pososion simple football pass and move. I can hponestly say I have not seen top qulaity football at Anfield despite the odd game since the Barnes Beardsley Days when Daglish was last incharge. Lets get the Club back where we belong, simple football, passionate people and players, Rush,Lee Molby, Whelan, Jamie Redkanpp average player great football Brain, get him on the coaching staff lets get people who care about the club back in control and you watch Liverpool develop and playing football the Liverpool way, players giving your right Arm to wear the shirt and the results will follow. Daglish is the only man who has the ability and Aura to do this, and rebuild the Club another Manager maybe successful but will not have the ability to re-build the Club again from the bottom up and bring back the Winning Mentality installed in Fans, Players, Coachng staff Youth, alike, lets face facts along with Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC and the Germans “Man Utd” we are the Biggest Club in World Football.
