Reds have had TWO failed approaches for Dutch Coach

|

According to Skysports.com, Liverpool have had two approaches rejected by Galatasaray to talk to their coach Frank Rijkaard in the last week. The 47 year old Dutch coach took over at the Turkish club in June 2009 but only has another year to go on his contract in Turkey. This has encouraged Liverpool to make an approach for the former Barcelona coach, who has won one Champions League  and two La Liga titles, as it is believed the compensation figure would be relatively small compared to other targets on their shortlist. Galatasaray have however, been reluctant so far to allow Rijkaard to speak to the Reds and as the Merseyside club are keen to sort out the manager’s position as soon as possible, they may turn their attentions away from the Dutch coach.

Rijkaard is a top coach. He did well with the Dutch national team and Barcelona so he can handle pressure and has worked with world class players. He also played for the great AC Milan team so he has managed and played at the very highest level.

I think he is a step above any other manager on our list. He would also play good attacking football.

Look at his record with and without Henk Ten Cate at his side. Without, it’s less than impressive.
