What is it with Purslow & Co?

|

What is it with Purslow and co at Anfield? The vacant Liverpool manager’s job needs to be filled and soon. Kenny Dalglish is the fans favourite, and mine, for the job. Yet Managing Director Christian Purslow seems determined to secure the services of Fulham manager, Roy Hodgson. It puzzles me as to why Purslow is so determined to get his man. Hodgson has not exactly jumped at the chance to manage Liverpool, despite all the overtures towards him thus far. I would ask the Liverpool MD to take a step back and offer the job to the heir in waiting, Kenny Dalglish, a man with an impeccable CV and a true Liverpool man waiting in the wings to bring back the good times to Anfield.

kenny is no 1 for the job. if not kenny then pellegrini. roy no thanks. we need to see possesion based attacking football again at liverpool that both fans and indeed the players can enjoy. the players would improve their performances under kenny or pellegrini as a result. under roy we will play the same pragmatic dire shite we have had to put up with under rafa and houllier. unfortunately kenny looks unlikely to get the job for whatever reason, therefore i believe pellegrini is the man. the days of defensive football for a team with winning aspirations is gone. DONT GET ROY

Its all about keeping control… they know if they give it to Kenny he will stand up and want control over players, fans love him and will stand by him no mater what… they want to sell the club that means a manager that won’t give them hell if they want to sell stevie/torres… H/G greed is getting in the way… and Purslow doesn’t care about the future (reduce dept as quick as possible and sell…)

    God save liverpool

The disgusting forced removal of Rafa with no replacemant in place is sheer incompetence by the creep Purslow. To have us wait for the ever so average Hodgson to say ‘yes’, is insulting to the fans of the club.
Purslow was brought in to get investment – he faied dismally. He claimed the new stadium would be started when he got this investment – nothing has happened. This joker is risking us losing Kenny completely – if he had any honour he’d admit his failings and resign. However, I’m not holding my breath. He’s no John Smith.

roy will allow sales or at least sit aside while its being done i agree. supposedly kenny himself has opposed the hiring of roy to the board. as kenny has supposedly been in contact with pellegrini, their alliance is encouraging should manuel get the job, and sales you would hope would be limited. the fact kenny has supposedly been in contact with pellegrini makes me think the board have turned kennys own advances down and has forced hime to persue manuel.

We all need to get together and march on Anfield and voice our concerns!!!

  • Redsmail says:

Kenny is definitely the man. Sadly we have a banker, two cowboys and a Chelsea fan deciding who should manage Liverpool. Surely its a no brainer if the owners are looking for a sale. Why bring in a new manager on a longish contract when they could put Kenny in on a rolling contract, then if the new owners want him, great, if they want their own man, there wont be a pay off for Kenny.

Liverpool are fast becoming a laughing stock. How sad!

52 days until 2010/2011 kick off and we’ve got an empty chair in the managers office. How timely that they done this during the world cup. Talk about a Kansas City Shuffle, we all look right, those shower of arseholes move to the left and make a pigs arse of our club.

  • Andy says:

I disagree with many here, Kenny in my honest opinion is not the man for the job. He walked out on clubs twice because of stress (pressure). I don’t want Kenny putting his health at risk dealing with those shysters. I agree with the posters who figured out that Kenny has a snowball’s chance because he’d be far too powerful for the shysters, if they thought Rafa had support! I still have an inkling it may be Pellegrini. Sure the media is pushing Roy cause he’s English, they want an English manager, pity the best an English manager has done this decade is 3rd and that was the late great Sir Bobby who they crucified during his England days.

For the sake of true liverpool fans bring back king kenny and leave roy of the rovers with fulham or england.mr purslow can you see that roy only interest is in england job.stop playing about with our team and go away with that chelsea fan that we got as chairman.go away with your mickey mouse of owners that you lot are not wanted here anymore bunch of liars/and finaly you donot want king kenny because he got the character to win back the league with roy another step back thanks …..ynwa.

  • alfonzo mo says:

kenny on a rolling contract is the best option, but surely he wouldnt have chased after pellegrini had he known he had a chance with the shysters on the board. it would appear kenny isnt being considered and hasnt a chance of landing it. therefore do we agree that manuel is our best candidate, as kenny himself has approached him. and what if roy is given the job as the board seem determined to do. the sale of our best players and a continuation of a dour brand of football. we can expect mid table mediocrity id say.

  • PMD says:

If Kenny got the job then he would be able to keep Gerrard and Torres at the club. This is not what the owners want. They want to sell our assets before the club is sold to make as much money as they can. This is the reason Hodgson is wanted by Broughton, who is also a Chelsea fan. Gerrard and Torres will not stay for Hodgson. Our club is being sold down the river!

  • a.finnigan says:

give kenny no contract then just pay him whats right and prove the doubters wrong he’ll be on a 3/4 year deal by xmas

  • Jo says:

They don’t want King Kenny in the boot room, because they want a yes-man who doesn’t have independent press-credibility in town.

They are going to sell players and use the money to pay off the bankers, and Rafa wouldn’t stand for it.

Cut the salary package and the bank debt in half(never mind the loan they owe themselves), and all the heat goes away. Then they have a nice little club with a little tiny profit, and all the drama involves relegation.

This is for sure. The new Gaffer will be an old man with old ideas, and he will need the job.

  • DaveWestAus says:

Dalglish is not the man for LFC-I agree with Andy, above,he walked out on two clubs(stress),or was it failure at Newcastle & Celtic ??? He had the benefit of having Paisley sitting in the managers office with him,(at his own request),when he took over from Fagan! He also had Ray Harwood(ford?)looking after things when he won the prem with Blackburn!!! Kenny would be better continuing his support for the incomming manager (Hodgson?maybe),and help in the signing of new players! That is what he did best when he was in the seat at Anfield before. He would be the ideal man to start the ‘boot room’ going again,(helped by SammyLee/Roy Evans/Ian Rush etc; That is what LFC need right now more than anything!!!
But definately not he as manager again,he can help the club in many other ways! And we all love him!!!

Burn down Anfield!!! End of story.

  • KK S'pore says:

I think all of you guys in Merseyside need to organise a protest at Anfield to make your choice of Manager heard loud and clear. And do it before it is too late!

  • Frank says:

our wonderful board are seeking a sheep who will follow their commands and the commands of their lords from across the pond. Rafa was removed for this reason and Hodgson is being pursued for the same reason.

Until we find new owners and board we are heading for our very own dark age.

  • wil cwac cwac says:

Kenny Dalglish – his reaction to the appointment of the new LFC manager will be CRITICAL and will dictate whether the Board can even carry on – fans reaction will be everything.Hope your reading this Purslow – you need to

  • Ben says:

Dalglish may be great as a player but he quit when the going got tough. It’s sad and ridiculous that Liverpool fans have already jumped the gun before giving Hodgson a chance. I’m really sick and tired of fans who think they know best and know all. Condemning Purslow without knowing the actual picture reflects the new generation of fans. When Abra took over Chelsea, Pool fans clamoured for new, rich owners pressuring Moores to sell. The fans have as much to blame for the current situation at Anfield. Some fans keep demanding and can NEVER be satisfied. They want this and that. WANT, WANT, WANT, WANT. They assume the board want a sheep etc. Were you at the board meeting? Stop demanding and give the new guy a chance whoever he may be. Face reality – the top managers like Mourinho, Hiddink etc doesn’t want to come to Liverpool neither do the top players. Stop harping on Dalglish. He quit when the team was going downhill after winning the last league title. As a manager, Dalglish is a quitter. he can’t handle the pressure of the job. He may have Liverpool at heart but are you sure he has the steel to see things through in tough times like these? Shame on all those fans who condemn Roy before he even takes the reins. Shame on all those fans who condemn without real information. Stop this stupid mob mentality. I’m sure the same fans who condemn Hodgson will suddenly sing praises if he does well. To the Liverpool fans who keep demanding, get off your high horse and start supporting the club. Can you guys do a better job at running it? Purslow has managed to bring in more cash and investment than Parry. Impatience, constant criticism, arrogance and the know-it-all attitude will NOT help the club.

  • Danielsan says:

I do belive that Roy H. is lined up as manager because our club is up for sale and having a manager that is on a cheap contract would be easier for potential buyers the sack then a true legend like King Kenny.

I belive it is right for Liverpool FC at this moment to appoint a manager like Roy H. It can speed up the sale and he can easily be replaced by the new owners own people when that time arives!

If King Kenny took over and failed, hi may have to leave Liverpool FC forever. And I dont wont that. I want him at the club. I think that Christian Purslow sees this.
