Real Madrid left back Royston Drenthe has reportedly stated that he will be joining Liverpool. He was quoted as saying:
“I will soon be joining Liverpool. I hope I will have a good season.”
The source of the quote comes from his facebook page according to the Daily Star. The Reds are also interested in Maynor Figueroa, according to reports in his native Honduras where his agent has confirmed the club’s interest and that Liverpool have agreed a £5million fee with Wigan.

lol Royston, 2 roys now at liverpool this season, think he may be cheaper than figeroa, and if we get van der vaart then we’ll have 2 dutch players on the left, maybe huntelaar aswell and kuyt and if babel isnt involved in the swap with huntelaar then the team will have 5 dutch internationals, from rafas spanish team, we could be a dutch team soon.

but, sure, if reports are to be believed, then drenthe and figeroa battling for the LB slot would be very much welcomed!

hopefully this is just a rumor, I do not like either, but hey, at least one purchase Drenthe seems acceptable, but please do not buy from Figeroa, not the level of player you want to see in Liverpool.

He had that scrap with Steven Gerrard back in his Dutch-playing days. I’ve always assumed that’s one reason he’d never join us. The other is that he can’t get into a Madrid team that had Arbeloa and Marcelo as its left hand side last season.
