Hodgson to “rubber stamp” Benayoun’s departure

|

The Independent are reporting that Roy Hodgson’s first act as Liverpool manager yesterday was to rubber-stamp Yossi Benayoun’s move to Chelsea. With the arrival of the former Fulham manager as boss, it was expected that he may assess the squad before selling any players, but according to the paper, Hodgson has agreed to sell the 30 year old Israeli for £6million. The Reds winger was in London yesterday to speak with Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich and it is believed that he will sign a 4 year contract worth around £55,000 per week in the next two days. Looks like the new manager is already making his mark on the squad.

Good luck to Benayoun. He was a decent squad player at Liverpool, and I’m sure he’ll fulfil the same role at Chelsea. Liverpol’s main aim is to dump as many ‘decent’ players as they can and bring in a few top class players. This would aid consistency and improve the style of play. As Hodgson has been assured that all revenue from sales will be at his disposal, this should be achieveable. This wasn’t offered to Rafa, even salary improvements came out of his ‘transfer’ budget. Keep in with Purlsow Roy, he is power mad and devious!

Good luck to benayoun, he did his job while he was here and is a very good winger. As brush said, we’re getting rid of decent players to bring in world class, and if this does happen then i think every liverpool fan would be happy with that. Hodgson can sort us out. Good luck!
