Rumour Mill: Reds linked with City defender

|

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be tracking Manchester City defender Micah Richards according to Sport.co.uk. The arrival of German international Jerome Boateng at the City of Manchester Stadium has increased speculation over the 22 year old’s future and it is believed the player would be tempted to leave if there was no guarantee of first team football from Roberto Mancini. Both Harry Redknapp and Roy Hodgson are said to be keen admirers of the player despite his lack of progress during the last year after being capped by England as a teenager. According to the website, City are said to be keen on keeping the player though as he is seen as a future centre-back and they have put a prohibitive £10-15million price tag on the player.

why bother with rumours when there is plenty of lfc stuff to pick through, like will martin broughton give the fans an undertaking that no more liverpool players will be sold to chelsea under his stewardship.

stan howard, this one is for you: Word ’round Melwood is that Torres, Gerrard and Reina will all be released on a free transfer as soon as they have signed their pre-contracts with Chelsea. This will happen on the last day of the transfer window so Liverpool have no chance of finding replacements. In a public statement the three players will then claim unanimously that they were fed up with the constant doom propaganda coming out of certain quarters of Liverpool supporters. The following day Carragher will retire from football altogether and play for my pub team because of the loyal support we have.

thats right we would go for this over rated bloek who just because he plays for a team that have still not won a thing and chuck money around, we all should buy an english right back / cum makeshift player that has done next to nothing and can not even make the nantional team first team and we all should agree with his over rated tag of aroun 15 mill, why the hell do we as a club or would we as a club look at a player who has shown no sign of inprovement and for that above fee would be crazy, johnson is twice the player and martin kelly looks better and will 4 times the player when he gets more chance to show it, we even have jamie who can play their, so we are not and will not be even thinking of this joke of a player

Johnson was a waste of money at £18m because he cannot defend. However Richards, who was Englands right back before injury can play in three different positions and would be worth the money. Aquilani was also a waste and will never achieve what Alonso did. Clear out Lucas, Aquilani, Insua, Macherano, Reira, Ngog, and if possible Torres simply because if a club is daft enough to pay £50/£60 million for his services then take it. He gives us half a season and is injury prone. There are plenty of “Liverpool” type players available and hopefully Hodgson will be much better in the transfer market than waster Benitez.

anteater, re my post and also a letter to the liverpool echo, broughton said he would not attend the chelsea liverpool match because he was also a chelsea supporter, yet he sold benyoum to CHELSEA, martin broughton would get torres to chelsea tomorrow if he could and as he runs our club its not that far fetched is it. my post and letter were to let him know not to try it.

to anteater again, i have posted one contsructve post after another, saying that despite everything, i think we will have a good season, i think torres and gerrard will stay, rafa knows better than anyone the financial situation at the club and this will play a part in any mascherano deal.if we get enough cash in from selling other players he will know that inter will have to pay top money. i’m afraid i have no mates at melwood, i have only simple common sense to rely on.
