Fulham’s Danny Murphy hopes that some of the club’s big name players stay at the club beyond this summer’s transfer window. The former Liverpool midfielder also stated that he believes his former club are interested in signing Paul Konchesky:
“It’s very unusual for a club to let that many players get to 12 months left, so I’m hoping they will start getting sorted as the weeks pass and hopefully the one Simon Davies signed this week will not be the only piece of good news on that front. New additions are all very well and good, but I think we need to get the players with a year left tied down and keep as many of the squad together as possible. Obviously when players do well they can move on to bigger and better things – I know Arsenal are chasing Schwarzer and Liverpool are after Konchesky – and I don’t know whether we will be able to keep them, it’s out of my hands. But you can’t buy experience and you don’t want to be losing key members of your squad.”
Konchesky has been a rumoured target for former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson to fill the left back position at Anfield.

Don’t tell me, you have convinced yourself that every player who was crap for Liverpool would have been world class if it wasn’t for Rafa Benitez yes? What is it this time? Played out of position? Injuries? Rotated too much? The zonal system?
Hell, this is a £20m (ridiculous!) professional footballer. He gets paid to deal with issues and get out on the pitch and play football. He came, we saw, he didn’t come close to conquering. End of story!

I agree that journalism sucks these days but the part that you complain about, “red”, is in quotes. So, Murph might just have said something about what he does know because he talked with Paul!

Would any of you consider Armande Traore who is available it seems from arsenal for £3.2 million. Left sided player, quick and can play LB or LW. He did well for Portsmouth on loan a couple of seasons ago. According to sky he’s off to benfica for the fee above.
@Eric: We need crap players like Konchesy and Bridge to complete the jigsaw puzzle Rafa started and that is to have the biggest pool of mediocre players in a football club! It won’t be long now… we already have Lucas, Itanje, Insua, Aquilani, Babel, El Zhar, Degen, Kuyt, Plessis, Ngog etc. If when completed, the jigsaw puzzle would form a beautiful picture.
When did Kuyt become a bad player ? Ngog has started pretty well too.
