Liverpool striker Krisztian Nemeth’s agent Viktor Kovesdi has told Pepsifoci that there have been negotiations between Liverpool and Olympiakos over a possible transfer to Greece although there is also interest from two other clubs:
“We can confirm that there have been talks between the two clubs. What is more they agreed about the details verbally, but there are numerous teams which want to sign Nemeth so his future is not decided at all. There are two other clubs which would like to get him and they go on as they want to be the winner for the striker’s signature. Negotiations went so far with Olympiakos that we could turn onto the details of what the Greek side can offer for the player. But Nemeth hasn’t travelled to Athens yet and he won’t go there on Thursday because other clubs want him too.”
Nemeth spent last season on loan at AEK Athens although his time in Greece was hampered by injury.
Liverpool are short on strikers so we look to sell one of our best proospects. why not save on money and just recall him. give him until the jan transfer window to prove himself.
Please don’t sell him…

I don’t think Liverpool’s striker situation is as bad as people think.I do think we need 1 striker but i don’t think it would be a disaster if we didn’t get one.We only play with 1 striker anyway and we have Kuyt,Torres,Pacheco,Ngog,Ecclestone and Dalle Valle.And we have plenty of players to play “in the hole” (Gerrard,Cole,Aquilani,Jovanovic).Nemeth is never going to get in over any of the players i named above so we might as well cash in.Anyone agree!!
I agree with Daniel, if he was good enough i don’t think we would be trying to flog him. Basically he hasn’t made the grade and is always injured so he has to GO!!! Its a shame really.

im disappointed, this guy’s one of our brightest prospects. he’s a quality striker who can get goals with a lot of potential. he’s as good as ngog and would be a good backup for torres. im dissapointed hodgson has overlooked him and didn’t even include him in the squad for pre-season. i think in 2-3 years time nemeth would be a class striker and we’d regret selling him.
Nemeth looked good in the reserves. So did Neil Mellor. Unfortunately that isn’t enough.
Similarly, we have a huge number of exciting young prospects currently at youth and reserve level. None of them are guaranteed to carry that potential into an ability to play for a team of our standing.
Please at least give him a chance to prove himself as a first team squad member e.g. playing in the Carling Cup with 5-10 games. People have raved about him for so long – before Pacheco he was our No 1 prospect. If he goes hope it is just on loan.
