Reds told to double bid for international striker?

|

According to reports in the Swedish media, Liverpool have been asked to double their bid to £10million by PSV Eindhoven for their striker Ola Toivonen. Roy Hodgson confirmed his interest in the 24 year old a couple of days ago and watched the player in Sweden’s 3-0 friendly win against Scotland. Toivonen himself though has played down any move away from PSV. Asked by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf about his future, he said:

“That is not important for me now. I am focusing on my own form to ensure that it doesn’t get affected.”

Toivonen has had an excellent start to the Eredivisie season scoring 5 goals in two games while also scoring his second international goal against Scotland.

Toivonen would be good if the club could afford to make him a project as the club need a backup for Torres who will be off and running.

No chance of getting him for fifty quid then.

He played in the europa game last night how does that affect his price? Forget him and get Luis Fabiano, he wants to come to the Prem!

The dutch league is one of the weakest in europe and easy for a striker to make a name for himself…. how good can he be when he only got his second for his country and that was Scotland!

Now that he is cup-tied we should not double but half our bid.
