Reds yet to match Fulham’s valuation for left back?

|

The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool have yet to meet Fulham’s £3million for their left back Paul Konchesky. Roy Hodgson had stated on Wednesday that they were interested in bringing the 29 year old to Anfield.

“We had discussions with Fulham about whether they were prepared to sell any of their players and I would be lying if I said Paul was not a name we considered. Whether or not there is a chance of business is still very much up in the air.”

With the impending departure of Javier Mascherano to Barcelona though, funds should be freed up to make a move for the full back.

Get Konceshky, and Wolfswinkle and Diarra, quickly now cos Tuesdays approaching!!

  • sib says:

Roy may well increase his bid to £3m/£4m.

I mean his age warrants it! He is a mere pup to Roy, whose strategy seems to be to buy cronies and get rid of young ‘uns?!

The Mexican left back at PSV, Salceido, is a far better player than rubbish Konchesky. What a poor signing he would be.

We need at least one striker maybe 2, a centre midfield tackler, a centre midfield passer, a left back and a winger.

Alan… Salcido signed for Fulham a few days ago. Now they are in a spot to sell Konchesky. A spot usually very well known by Liverpool in their dealings!

A decent left back would be nice i would rather keep Insua than get Konchesky, at least Insua will improve.

  • phil says:

Does anyone even know what’s going on with Insua? He’s not involved in any of our squads, the manager said he likes him and yet we’re still being linked with other left backs, whats going on?

  • sib says:

    Phil,
Roy does not like him. He pulls the average age of the squad down too much.

  • Eric says:

salcido would be a much better option. they’re both around the same age but i would have gone for salcido, he was absolutely fantastic at the world cup
