Tribalfootball are reporting that FC Utrecht are expecting an offer from Liverpool for their 21 year old striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The site states that Liverpool scouts were in the stands for Utrecht’s Eredivisie match against Willem II last weekend and the Dutch club believes that the Reds will make a formal approach before the end of the transfer window. The Dutch international is valued at £8m by Utrecht and has been in dazzling form in the first few matches of the season. The player struck six goals in his last seven games prior to last night’s match against Celtic in the Europa League. Van Wolfswinkel helped Utrecht overturn a 2-0 first leg by scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory over the Scottish team. The hat-trick included two penalties and a curling effort from 18 yards out.

Is he then cup tied for the whole of the Europa League or just until Jan.?
I prefer his teammate. Chip van Cocksuckel
Go get him Roy! He will be cup tied but we can use him for the premiereship! Good score rate, skillfull with both feet! Instead of Ben Arfa can we go and get Turan!
he would not be allowed until at least feb and the knockout stages
He is not only the dogs bollocks but also the Wolfswinkel!
LFC draw Utrecht In the UEL and now we are magically linked to one of their players? Who pulled this one out of their backside?
Roy wont buy him. He is 10 yrs too young!.
He’d be cup tied for the whole tournament. Players are only not cup tied if they were to be played in the other european competition – e.g. should a side still in the Champions League buy him they could register him to play even though he had played in the Europa League (you can only do this with 1 player per team/season)
But since the Prem should be out main priority it wouldn’t make a difference with him being cup tied for the Europa League.
Just buy him for the name alone!!
he when is hogson going to buy a left back and a midfielder is needed and also a winger with pace and where is all the money gone from the sales of reira , benayoun, san jose , nemeth , and now masch
possible 35 mil where is the money spend only 4.5 mil on poulsen and 3.5 mil on wilson where is all the money gone and please sell kuyt and lucas to for god sake if we need to challenge for trophies
Farhan. Great point, and of course what happened to the other £3.8m monies raised from January sales: Dossena (£4.4m), Voronin (£1.5m) and Nicolay Mihaylov (£1.6m), offset only by Maxi (£1.5m) and Shelvey (£1.7m)
Sign him up….then at least he won’t be able to play against us in the group stages!
yes quality player but we won’t sign him cause roy still thinks he’s in charge of fulham
As far as I’m aware he will be cup tied the whole season!! A stupid rule that was created to stop teams buying in a player just for a final etc, but that can’t happen anymore with the transfer windows!!
Smart u are sooo smart! Turan would be the ultimate buy to fill that left midfield role.Very skillful, fast and can score goals please Roy go get him!He is a liverpool fan!
we dont even know whether its true but do agree wiv getting turan but its been said he a interested in the player, thats why am worried abt his managerial capabilities of managing a top team
All well and good signing rising stars but we need quality now not in a few years. Agree that Hodgson needs to look somewhere other than his old Fulham transfer target list and sign players worthy of playing at our club – unlike that baffoon Konchesky.
Selling Lucas and Kuyt should also be a priority as they are both crap.
its going to cost me a fortune to have his name printed on my lads shirt . does any one no what a wolfswinkel is in english
yes albey, it’s dog’s dick, please don’t subject your lad to that mate!
nice one steve ha ha make a change from calling him nob head . A steve been checking up on dogs dick he is not a bad investment at all 21yrs old tipped for the big time in holland mind you so was babel dont no bout you steve but i fancy that gomez we have had some decent germans play for us and there usualy technicaly very good and seem to fit in with our style of play and go along with lee’s statement about konchelsky not a liverpool player we should of splashed out on a top class left back we have been lacking one for a few years now .
