Roy: Youngster holding up Konchesky move

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is hopeful that Paul Konchesky’s move to Liverpool will be completed soon. The move of Reds starlet Lauri Dalla Valle, moving in the other direction, is currently preventing the deal from being completed, according to Hodgson:

“One of our young players, a very talented young lad that Fulham have fancied for a long time, is going in the other direction and that’s holding it up a little because he has to have a medical. I’m sincerely hoping it’s just a technical hitch and that Paul will sign in the next couple of days.”

Explaining the reason’s for Dalla Valle’s departure, Roy expressed his views on the youngster:

“I didn’t have a strong opinion on him one way or another but Malcolm Elias (from Fulham’s academy) did. The lad’s got the quality to go into a first-team contingent.”

Dammit Roy watch a reserve match, and don’t be like Rafa and let all our good youngsters leave. First Nemeth now Dalla Valle…we could have had a great attacking force in 3-4 years time with Pacheco, Nemeth, Dalla Valle and Ngog (considering how much he seems to be impoving)

  • Paul says:

Big mistake letting Dalle Valle go, he’s better than Ngog!

  • stah howard says:

in the pre season game against the decent german team, this lad and a few other youngsters looked out of their depth, he may well go on to make the grade but we neen a left back NOW !

  • Steve says:

I couldn’t believe it when I heard we are giving Fulham Dalla Valle. Why are we giving away our best young players? Did Roy bother to consult John McMahon / Rodolfo Borrell for their opinion on Dalla Valle?

  • keymer138 says:

Been thinking same thing myself , we were led to believe he is a star of the future “losing the faith “

  • sos says:

i hope it falls through i dont want konchesky at liverpool as he is not good enough

  • nonymus says:

roy is selling young men to buy grandpas. kudos. losing Dalla Valle for Konchesky. what a lousy piece of business.

  • daboy says:

I agree Konchesky is not good enough and selling Buchtman now Dalle Valle for pittance may come back to bite us.
I do believe though Nemeth was most likely not going to make it.

I said it from the start Hodgson is a mid table manager nothing more nothing less. He’s a friend and admirer of Moyes and likes to buy old has beens. The medical staff are going to have one hell of a season. and come next year we’ll have nobody to sell worth anything except for Torres. Relegation beckons I’m afraid. We need new owners with money and a new manager, this guy is not fit for purpose.

this is full of rubbish and lfc has to think about past, present & future…..

  • Karl Matchett says:

elias used to work at liverpool, hence knowing about dalla valle. and to be fair although i dont want LDV to leave and think he is a good prospect, roy has seen him for a couple of months now and played in europe game so he mustve been aware of his abilities. if its short termism thinking then disappointing, but not the end of the world. id rather concentrate on dani pacheco to be honest, one forward making the grade more important than two who nearly do….

  • pat says:

Buchtman – rumours he had an attitude problem
Nemeth – scored like 6 goals in a full season in a poor greek league.
LDV – not sure, but roy wants to concentrate on pacheco, eccleston, amoo – so there is plenty there. i am shocked, but he just doesnt rate him.
