Sky Sport Italia: Reds in talks with Juve midfielder

|

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have given permission for Liverpool to talk with Christian Poulsen. The 30 year old Danish international is surplus to requirements by new head coach Luigi Del Neri, and Juve will allow the player to hold talks with the Reds even before a transfer fee is agreed. The Dane worked with Roy Hodgson when he was at FC Copenhagen during the 2000/01 season and actually gave the player his debut for the club. Poulsen is said to have been on Hodgson’s radar for the long time, and since Javier Mascherano has declared his desire to move away, Liverpool have stepped up their chase for the defensive midfielder. The player is believed to be valued between £5.5m-6m by Juventus.
