Liverpool’s last friendly opponents Borussia Moenchengladbach are believed to be interested in signing Liverpool left back Emiliano Insua. Fiorentina confirmed yesterday that a £5m deal for the player collapsed due to the failure to agree personal terms and the German club are ready to step in. According to the Daily Mail, Moenchegladbach have made an enquiry about the player after Insua impressed the club’s coaching staff during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to the German side. Roy Hodgson, according to the paper, is willing to let the player go after the club re-signed left back Fabio Aurelio on a two year deal. Insua is no longer needed as back up in the position and is now deemed to be surplus to requirements by Hodgson.

Would be a big mistake to let him go. He is a functional young player who also fills the home grown quota. what’s the point of letting him go and replace him with higher priced home grown player who in all likelihood will be a benchwarmer.
Hi I dont think we need to sell Insua just incase of anything happens to Fabio we will still go back to desperate situation we were when we did not have left back. Unless we have plan of assigning one, note Transfer window deadline is approaching very fast keep him. John – Nairobi
insua is useless at left back, he is not equiped for the job, jack robinson is better and he’s just 16
Insua is a crap defender, sell him off,i see it as a good deal
