New Liverpool signing Raul Meireles has stated that he will celebrate his move to Anfield by adding another tattoo. The addition will be his 32nd piece of body art and the 27 year old hopes it will bring good omens:
“I’ve always had a tattoo done after a new success and it has become a bit of mania. I was 18 when I had my first one on my arm – I want another one for Liverpool and hope it will bring me luck.”
The Portuguese international made an impressive cameo appearance against Birmingham City at the weekend and will hope to start against Manchester United next Sunday.
Why did you say it was impressive? 15 minutes was all he got. Surely not enough time to tell yet how he will be with 90 minutes game time. I am hoping though that he will come good as he beds in…

i’d agree impressive in comparison to who he came on for. i for always said to give Lucas time but i think now he has had enough, countless times he gave the ball away or gave away needless fouls. Poulson was auful as well. this should be the team against united IMO

@mark – yeah you probably right but we need to get Johnson out of the right back position as he cannot defend. having 3 centre backs should be able to keep Rooney and Berbatov quiet. we still need a left back imo as Knchesky is shit. to be honest i cannot see a team/formation that we can play against united that will win. the only way to beat them is to attack and out score them, they will definity score 2 or 3!

I don’t rate Jovanovic at all from what I have seen so far – all game he kept coming inside and running into dead ends, clossing up space and offering no width – and his touch and distribution look heavy and poor – he’s looked very agricultural.
Liverpool need to play with genuine mobile ball players with energy and drive who can keep possesion and offer invention while ensuring we can defend against the width ManU play with.

I know people may think playing Pacheco is a risk but I disagree – I think he is good enough and needs to be given a chance and run of games playing behind Torres, and Cole would give us energy and invention from the left hand side where he played well for both Chelsea and England
Alternatively, you play Poulsen in CM with Meireles and play Gerrard behind Torres.
