Rumour Mill: Roy not giving up on German star?

|

The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is not giving up on signing Bayern Munich striker and German international Mario Gomez. According to the paper the Reds will rekindle their interest in the 25 year old in the January transfer window after failing in a deadline day loan move to bring the striker to Anfield. Bayern General Manager Uli Hoeness has stated in the last few days that they were only willing to sell the player rather than loan him out and the Reds couldn’t afford the asking price for a player Bayern paid £30million for last summer. The paper also believes that Liverpool could have competition for the player’s signature from Italian club Juventus who are also seeking to shore up their numbers up front.

I am sorry but Bayern are not in their right mind. I like Gomez, I think he is a good player but he is not worth 30 mil. Lets assume he is, and then Bayern keep a 30 mil asset on the bench all the time, he rarely rarely starts! That is saying something about the price they are asking, they have gone bonkers.
