Former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano believes that Fernando Torres could leave the club after this season. The Barcelona player has expressed sympathy about the club’s current plight :
“I have many friends now living in a strange situation. I hope that with the sale of the club things can change. Torres, Gerrard, are the stars of the Liverpool squad. It seems to me difficult to see them leave now and they will try to help save the team. I cannot guess the future of Torres, but knowing him, he could leave after this season.”
Mascherano has so far struggled to gain a first team place since his departure for Barca at the start of the season.
