Reds Forward: “I fear the worst”

|

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has stated that he is very concerned about the ankle injury he picked up on international duty playing for the Netherlands against Sweden. The area still remains swollen and it will be some time before a scan of his ankle can be carried out:

“The swelling is so bad it will take three to four days to be sure, but I fear the worst. You know your own body and it doesn’t feel good – the doctors have the same feeling. They say I’ve probably torn ankle ligaments, so let’s hope they’re wrong.”

It is feared that the 30 year old could be out until the New Year if Kuyt’s worst fears are confirmed.
