Spanish daily Sport is reporting that Liverpool have contacted Real Madrid over the availability of their Dutch wing back Royston Drenthe. The 23 year old is currently on a season long loan at fellow La Liga side Hercules, and according to the paper, the former Dutch Under 21 international has impressed the Reds during his four appearances for the club so far this season. Drenthe was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer but nothing materialised and he opted to go out on loan this season to get more first team action. Sport believes Real boss Jose Mourinho would welcome any bid from the Reds for the player as he does not feature in his future first team plans.
