Would you trust this man with £40million?

|

Liverpool had the chance to make a statement about the manager’s future last week but they did not, now the new owners have to call it a loss and say goodbye to Roy Hodgson. Yes, it was a difficult game against Everton; however, we shouldn’t be in this position. Hodgson’s way of playing has become somewhat predictable and for a top class manager he should be able to make better choices and be more proactive when necessary.

He constantly gets caught out of the game and tends to wonder off until the opposition makes the first change. Once again we have clearly been out played, yet Maxi Rodriguez was kept on the field with little or no impact on the game what so ever, Lucas Leiva was not needed on the field at the same time as Raul Meireles and Fernando Torres obviously needed some support up front. Therefore, even though our bench is not the quality we would want to see, he should have made changes from half time or minutes after, not wait until the end of the match. Clearly Hodgson didn’t know he was in a derby game .He demonstrated little awareness of what should be done and that is not what we need at this moment.

Blackpool’s Manager Ian Holloway spoke of one of his key strategies in motivating his Blackpool squad, in that he used the Bill Shankly’s approach in getting his team to believe in their abilities and their passion and desire to achieve, and clearly it is working. What then is the reason why Hodgson fails time after time to motivate this Liverpool squad, which in my opinion is leaps and bounds better than a Blackpool’s squad? As mentioned before the problem sadly lies with Hodgson, his failure to follow the game throughout cost us dearly, he allowed David Moyes to pull all the strings with great success.

Come January transfer window, Hodgson will probably be given £40million or so to spend on new players. Now is that a wise move,to allow Hodgson with that much cash or should it be in the hands of a more high calibre manager who has the experience of managing big clubs with more ,i.e. Guus Hiddink,Frank Rijkaard?

I have been a Liverpool F.C supporter since the mid 80's, I fell in love with this club when I saw the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes play. I hold a Law degree from the University of London ,and a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies.

I think someone should pass Woy the pack of fags and let him have one last taste of things that go up in smoke.

He isnt Liverpool caliber. He isnt the man to lead us to no.19. He isnt the man who will lead the current team back up the league.

He is THE man who will take us down to the championship, no matter how many pundits say “oh liverpool are too good to go down”.

Try saying that to life long Leeds fans…I remember what they were like when they went down.

  • Zahid says:

I wouldn’t trust him with a Pound, get rid of him now so that the damage hes already done can be fixed……YNWA

  • Mike roberts says:

I wouldn’t trust him with £1 never mind £40 million , Hodgson do one now !

  • Martin Richards says:

Lovely Man. But how many reds fans wanted him to be our manager. Kenny should have been given the job. We need an injection of pashion and aggression otherwise we will go down and the super stars will fly the nest

  • halim belaiboud says:

they sould fire him rihgt know befour he take us down please he is not for a big team like liverpool he wait 75 minut befour he make a sub when we where down two nill and he is talking a bout liverpool play a good game again everton are we watching the same game the first half everton kill us liverpool players wear scard to pass the midfild rafa beat them with ten man plus felani and pinnare he is going to spend that money in players like joe cole pulsen kuncsky he still think he is in fulham

  • Red4Life says:

40 MIL??????? If that is true then I gues we will get a load of 5h1t3 second rate players or he’ll spend it on a lavish grannies tea party

  • Stevie Gee says:

I wouldn’t even let him touch my grandaughter’s piggy bank ,,, John Henry would be utterly mad to even let him have a sniff at that kind of money.Give the money to Kenny to spend. He’s a wise Scot who will make things happen. Roy has to go. He has been tactically clueless in every match go far , and only realises that things are going bad is in the 85th minutes when he decides to substitute a player or two . Roy , you are out of your depth here old man. Hand over the reigns to someone who knows the Liverpool way and plays attractive football and wins matches at the same time.

  • Indy says:

    Oh my god NO!!

Look at our targets so far? It’s petrifying – we’ve morphed into Everton with a shortlist that even they would be nervous about!!

Why buy Konchesky, when Fulham buy Salcido who’s ten times better and cheaper? What the eff is that about?!

Charles INSOMNIA?? Give me a break..

I fear for the players he would bring in given the money! He buys Mereiles when we have Cole and Gerrard who do the exact same thing, then whacks him on the wing…..why not just buy Turan who is deperate to come to us, and actually plays there?????????????

HODGSON OUT – Sorry Woy you’re a nice guy but do us a favour please – we’ve had enough campaigning against H&G to last us a lifetime – stop making us do it again!!

I think more high calibre manager need to lead.
    Marcello Lippi or Kenny Dalglish!

  • Sack the Juggler says:

Nah, much better to have let Wafa waste it

  • karma says:

I think Roy is clearly showing that his Blackburn misadventure was not a one off, only that this time he is showing he is also capable of taking a bigger side down.

  • mdonald1987 says:

Will people stop asking for Dalglish to be given the job. This man has been out of football for almost as long as Roy has been in it! The tactics he used in the 80’s are old news. He is out of touch with the modern game. We need somebody young to inject some new ideas into the team. Pellegrini or Rijkaard?

    • Zahid says:

He may have not managed for ages, but its not like hes been on another planet, he eats, breathes, bleeds football and stays in touch with it wherever he is. Besides i can’t see him doing any worse than Roy the players might play with more heart under him.

However i do have to agree if Roy resignes or gets sacked Hiddink should be first choice but hes too loyal to his job in Turkey, Reijkaard or Oneil would also be good. I think King Kenny should have been given the job when Roy got it not now, Oneils available sat at home come on John Henry pull your finger out and tell Roy YOUR FIRED!! YNWA

    • Dave says:

We need to be looking at one of Hiddink, Van Gaal, Peligrini or Rjikaard. Dont with to hear anymore calls for Kenny or O’neill

  • Funkyest says:

Get rid and spend some of it to undo a great wrong.

    Lets get Rafa back!

  • Indy says:

Pellegrini was my pre-hogdson choice – either him or rijkaard would be a top acquisition – pellegrini is my choice though!! bought exciting, top players and had a really good, solid season –

just another victim of the real madrid managerial roller coaster – on that note, is Vicente Del Bosque free??

The fat git’s won everything with spain, and god knows theres a lack of fat spanish waiters in liverpool nowadays!!

  • Indiano says:

Hodgson is not a winner and has not won anything in years…unless you count tropies in scandinavia. His away record is abissmal. He is out of his depth. LEAVE NOW.

We need to bring in Kenny to stady the ship and a possible replacement should be Hiddink or Rikarrd.

If we wait til xmas – we will be relegated.

    LEAVE HODGSON NOW!

  • mdonald1987 says:

I’d take Rafa before anybody but it won’t happen. One or two senior players would need to go first and they seem to be running the club at the minute. Pellegrini would be my second choice but I also like Hiddink and Rijkaard. One or two people on Twitter seem to think that without Ten Cate, Rijkaard is nothing…

  • smarts says:

Nice guy not good enough to instill the pride and motivate the team. How could we begin the season so good and end up so bad within 8 games? Liverpool is a big team and we need a big manager with a good win ratio! Rikard, Pelligrini, Hiddink or ONeil as a last resort! I am sure we would prefer to have Kenny in place until January or put him on the bench with Roy to help out and to show Roy how its done! Other than that 4 league wins in a row and I am sure you (Roy) could have the fans singing your name!

  • David Tyrer says:

To be honest, I wouldn’t trust Hodgson with a pound for some penny sweets. He’d probably come back with a pint of milk instead! If Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky and Jones are any indication, he isn’t great with money.

  • Red4Life says:

A few seasons ago, looking at the forhcoming fixtures you would think can in those games …… now with Woy at the wreal and wunning things I cant see any winning wun coming from anywhere …

    Blackburn ????
    Bolton????
    the Chelsea ????

another 3 games without a win coming up???

Sorry but thats how down I feel

  • Nik says:

I wouldn’t trust him with a single penny now, we need someone like Frank Rijkaard or pellegrini to take over, someone high profile, i think rijkaard would be a perfect match for our beloved liverpool and would get them playing football again not ball watching on the field and playing like fairies! Hodgson should leave or be sacked now before its too late, if he hasn’t done anything in 8 games what is another two games going to do? so might as well sack him now before we go more deeper.
